Research

The bee scientists of bees@wur have specialist knowledge on all matters concerning honey bees and bumblebees. Their expertise runs from the use of these insects for pollination in agriculture and horticulture through the development of ecotoxicological test methods for bees and bumblebees.   In our research we cooperate closely with foreign research organizations that are also involved in apiculture and pollination. Our bee research focuses on applicable improvements in apiculture and the rearing of other pollinating insects such as bumblebees and solitary bees. We pay special attention to knowledge transfer and implementation in practice.
